Turid Rugaas has been working with dogs for more than forty years. At the end of the 80's, along with her colleague Stale 0degard, she studied, described and systematized "Calming Signals" in the dogs.

Turid Rugaas lavora da più di trent’anni con i cani. Ha fondato e dirige il centro di educazione cinofila "Hagan Hundeskole" in Norvegia nei pressi di Oslo. Il percorso professionale, dopo l'iniziale interesse e collaborazione con i Club Cinofili, si è poi orientato alla ricerca e sviluppo di propri metodi di training che ha applicato oltre che all'educazione di base e a quella dei cani da salvataggio, anche all'attività agonistica con ottimi successi nelle "prove di lavoro" e nei concorsi di "obedience".
